SEDS stands for Students for the Exploration and Development of Space. It is a national organization in the United States of America and has various chapters throughout that country and also throughout the world. The Philippine Students of Exploration and Development of Space (PhilSEDS) is a chapter of the larger SEDS organization.
This chapter aims to increase awareness of the pioneering field that is the space industry, in alignment with the SEDS vision of a space-faring world. The space industry sparks discovery and advancement in technology across all fields of study. More and more discoveries are made, more boundaries crossed everyday, and barely a percentage of that information reaches the students of the Philippines. If we open a channel with that world, we can find new ideas to inspire our students and tap their imagination, pushing them to think beyond limits and to be truly innovative. This increased awareness may push Filipinos into this field that is ripe with opportunity. We hope, thereby, to then bring the Philippines into their place among the countries that are reaching beyond the boundaries of our sky.
